On June 13,the individual competition are the preliminaries, semi-finals and final of Men’s 87kg, 63kg and Women’s 73kg, 53kg.
On the competition venue of Men’s 87kg, Korea and China were competing. Cao Yongwan from Korea fought hard and won the gold medal in Men’s 87kg. Ji Haibo from China got silver medal and Lucas Ferreira De Oliveira from Brazil and Avit Puisalee from Thailand won the bronze medal.
Galloway Jacqueline from American played very well in Women’s 73kg. She used a feinted strategy during her game and defeated her Chinese Taipei opponent in a sudden way. Finally, she won the match and got the first gold medal for USA. The sliver medalist was Chen Yanyu from Chinese Taipei. The bronze medalists were Wonjin Lee from Korea and Maeva Mellier from France. Galloway Jacqueline was born in a Taekwondo family and practiced it for more than 10 years. After the match, she said to the reporters that she really loved Taekwondo and she would continue to do it.
Korea and Egypt delivered a very exciting game in Men’s 63kg. After three rounds of competition, Kim Minsung from Korea got the gold medal. And the silver medalist was ALY Youssef and the bronze medalists were Sornsart Poolpong from Thailand and Chase Graham from USA.
Chinese Taipei and Thailand gave the audience a wonderful game in Women’s 53kg final. After a tie of 5:5, the two contestants were exhausted during the 2minutes’extra-round, and at last, Huang Yunwen from Chinese Taipei got her gold medal by a wonderful kick. The silver medalist was Sarita Phongsri from Thailand, while the bronze medalists were Janike Lai from Norway and Snastasila Lozhkina from Russian Federation.
The bronze medal winner Janike Lai comes from Norway, but his parents are Chinese. She said although she had took part in many world-class Taekwndo championship, this time in Hohhot was different. She said she would keep moving on and try her best in Taekwondo competition.
