We come to Inner Mongolia for the first time. Before our arrival, we had imagined the people here living in Mongolian yurts. However, when we are here, we find that Hohhot is a modern city, and we are wondering where we can ride horses? Cheng Gang Li told the reporter smiling in Inner Mongolia Gymnasium.
11 women athletes and 13 men athletes from Chinese Taipei take part in this championship. Cheng Gang Li, a 19-year freshman in National Taiwan University, will compete in the category of Poomsae Team. He said, “Before we arrived here, we heard of the delicious mutton and barbecue here. However, presently, we are on the venue or in the hotel, and we hope we have enough time to hang out to taste the typical grassland food after the end of the competition.”
As for the competition goal, he said, “I have had Taekwondo training for more than 10 years and I hope I can have a good performance.”
Then a female athlete came to the reporter and asked, “Is the shopping center far away from here? Where can we get gifts of Mongolian characteristics? Is there any interesting place where we can have fun?” The reporter answered the questions one by one.
Some Chinese Taipei athletes asked the reporter, “We have not seen Mongolian yurts, and have not ridden horses on the grassland yet. How far is the vast grassland?” Cheng Gang Li was surprised to learn that it would take two to four hours to get to the grassland. He said, “Oh, how far is it! In contrast, it only takes four hours for us to get to Tainan from Taipei by high speed rail. Still, we hope we can ride horses with our coach on the grassland before June 15 when we are going to return to Taipei.
